I'm wandering the streets of love lost long ago I'm better than I once was but I still have far to go I've seen cowboys and movie stars But that's not the life for me Just open roads and dial tones, that's all I'll ever be You can't trust the evil of the man We sang "and soon we're gonna see the king" And we sang on "soon our concrete ship is gonna sink" They talk of three bright stars that crashed upon the shore I saw the lights hanging low, blinking in secret code It said the grass is for smoking and the weed is for choking And I understood the message, I must return home You can't trust the evil of the man We sang "and soon we're gonna see the king" And we sang on "soon our concrete ship is gonna sink" I joined some wayward wanderers, hitchhiking across the land When we crossed into Tennessee, we were almost there The smoke hung low and through my lungs it did flow Living in the shallow ravine of hate, my soul is a shadow

about

Note from record label: Having not heard from him in a year, we located Hank playing dive bars on the outskirts of Detroit. He stated he "got fed up playing the traveling carnival shows." Fame has eluded him since his last 45 rpm and it took much convincing to get him back into the studio. Cut in a single midnight session, you will find grooves, heartache and soul on this new record.

During the long dark nights, alone with the moon, Hank Collins composes his songs.

Prior to his hour of fame there were disheartening years and even a struggle to keep alive. His first gigs were as a country act between clowns and animals at Yooper carnivals. ... more
